Everyday Urban “Greetings”
The simple move of the palm indicating gratitude or greeting is very common among drivers. However, the insulting gesture with open palm –known in Greek as “moutza” or “faskelo”- is the most familiar characteristic of Greek ardent idiosyncrasy. This insulting gesture, usually accompanied by insulting words too, is a common incident at Greek streets.
